While the cat is out...

...the mouse will play!

Right now, I am in Las Vegas at my parents house. Kyle is sooo funny, oh man. He just sent me a video that he made on his phone. Apparently, while I am on vacation, he is too!

That was him riding Hayden's fourwheeler through my house in his pajamas. Yep. Funny he is. Oh how I love my husband...

Pitiful

I know... our blog is pretty much pictureless. Sad. Some day I will be a good mommy again and take lots of fun pictures of my favorites. Kyle and Hayden, that is.

Kyle scares me

Kyle is extremely sore from the past week! First, he almost fell through the roof at work. Had he done, he just might be dead. Most of you know that he works on the roofs of commercial buildings. Well apparently he was picking up some trash and he couldn't see over the top of the heap in his arms and he walked into a hole in the roof that some other workers made. Luckily, he only stepped in with one leg, so he caught himself with his other leg and his ribs. OUCH! He has some pretty deep bruises on his ribs, but I think he will be ok. I can't imagine if he would have walked in with both legs, or if the hole was any bigger. He would have fallen several feet to the concrete floor below and it wouldn't have turned out any good for him.
Second!!!, he went grouse hunting with his dad on Saturday morning and rolled our four wheeler... I should have guessed this would happen! It's only the second time this year! Everyone knows how crazy he is on our four wheeler, and everyone knows that our machine is too fast to climb hills that require you to go really slow, it simply just doesn't go that slow. Well, I guess he got to the top of this humongous hill and started to roll back. He said he jumped off and the machine rolled right over him, and continued to the bottom of the hill. Kyle has a few bruises and is pretty sorry but otherwise he is ok. The four wheeler, HOWEVER, looks like one of those cartoons with it's eyes sprung out... ya know what I mean? Well the light is broken and hanging down (the other light... last year an elk tried to just over it and didn't clear it I guess and broke one light. So now both of it's "eyes" are hanging out) and the handlebars are bent. Eh, oh well. I guess Kyle wasn't the only one who rolled... Yep Gary did too. I know, you never would have guessed, right? Haha! After last week, I'm just glad Kyle is alive!

Amazing strangers

This past Friday we went to Kyle's mission reunion somewhere in Salt Lake City. When we got there, Kyle realized that there wasn't anyone there that he knew except the mission president and his wife. So, he said hi to them and we left. What a waste. We drove all the way to SLC to say hi to some people. Well, we decided to make it our date night and go to dinner somewhere. We both wanted to go to Red Lobster, but we didn't want to spend that much money. So, we both agreed that we would go, but we would get the cheapest thing that sounded good. Turns out, nothing is cheap at Red Lobster! While we were thinking about leaving, the waiter came and asked us what we wanted to order. We both blurted out our order without thinking twice. What the heck? We never go out to eat or go on real dates, so this was going to be our date for the month and a huge splurge for the week. In the middle of our deliciously expensive meal, the man from the table next to us came over to our table with a gift card. He told us that the gift card had $35 left on it and we could have it! We graciously accepted the card and said, "thank you". His wife said, "we were young once too", with a smile as she followed her husband and three young girls our of the restaurant. We were both speechless! We could not believe that there were people that nice in this world. I only wish I knew of some way to return the favor. All night long we could not stop thinking about it. I can't even count how many times we said to each other,"I can't believe what just happened!" All the way home we talked about what we want to do someday if we ever have money. Knowing how that made us feel, made us want to do things like that for people. I can't help but think that stuff like that happens for a reason. Not because we "deserved it", but because so many people in my family would give everything they had to make someone happy. I can think of countless times where my Grandma, my Great Grandma, my Mom and Dad, and my Aunt Toni have given so much to someone in the family or in the ward that is in need of help. They are always willing to help out a little or a lot no matter what the situation has been. I am so thankful for my family showing me how to be giving. I love to do everything we can to make sure all of our loved ones know that we were thinking of them on their birthday or on holidays. Even if is only a homemade card or a text message. If there was a lesson to be taught, we definitely learned from it. I only wish there were more people in the world who were more humble and giving and more people that "pay it forward" when something like that happens to them. If there were more kind people in this world, needless to say, it would just be a better place to be.

The weather makes me sad...

The past few weekends have been very not fun. Every week we have made plans for these big, fun, outside weekend day-trips but it has never worked out! Two weeks ago we wanted to go to Antelope Island and see all the buffalo and have a picnic, but then I got sick... Then, last week we wanted to go to Little Sahara sand dunes with some friends, but then it rained... This coming weekend, Kyle's family will be in town, but it is supposed to rain and be freezing again, so we will probably just hang out inside... HOW SAD! The only thing I am happy for is that Jo-Ann's is having all of their halloween stuff on sale 50% off this weekend and I have a coupon for another 50% off! Hooray! I need to get the last couple things for Hayden's first Halloween. I am hoping we will get at least one more semi-warm Saturday before the snow comes! On the other hand, I am actually kind of excited for the snow. Mostly because Hayden has some really cute winter clothes.. haha! Kyle keeps telling me how he can't wait to take Hayden sledding. That scares me. I can't wait for Christmas for Hayden. I'm so excited to see him on Christmas morning! My own little family... that makes me happy. I love my boys, Kyle and Hayden. They are so special to me. There's not a single thing in the world that makes me more happy than thinking about Kyle waking Hayden up early on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought. I'm so excited to spend Christmas with Kyle's family and especially Dave and Alecia and little big Brett! I love taking pictures of Hayden and Brett! I know... Christmas is a long ways away. I am excited for Halloween too. It has to be my favorite holiday! Thanksgiving is a close second though... I love spending time with family. Christmas is my favorite for Hayden.

I am so afraid Hayden is going to be accident prone just like Kyle!

I was in my room doing laundry while Hayden was roaming the living room, when I decided it would probably be better if I took down the baby gate in the hall and let him come in my room with me so I could keep a better eye on him. So I made sure all the outlets had covers in them, all the pennies were off the floor, and the bathroom door was closed so he didn't play in the toilet. I thought everything was covered and it was now safe to let him past the hallways. Plus, I was going to be right there watching him, so there's no way he could get hurt. He crawled in my room as soon as I took the gate down. He found some plastic hangers and played with them for a while, then he found the MIRROR! He loves to see himself in the mirror! I kept folding laundry while he played patty-cake with the little boy in the mirror, but then he got bored, I guess, and crawled back into the hallway. I started to go to get him when I saw a trail of BLOOD! OH NO! It was everywhere! Hayden wasn't crying, but it had to have come from him cuz I wasn't bleeding anywhere...? Hayden was standing in the hall dripping blood from his hand. Somehow, in the safe environment that I created for him, he managed to slice his finger open. So, I got him all fixed up with a band-aid... eventually. I was freaking out and getting light headed the whole time, but we got him cleaned up. (Now he just keeps trying to eat his band-aid) Then I went back to the bedroom to clean up the crime scene... that's really what it looked like! There was blood everywhere... on the floor, on the baby gate, on the wall, on the mirror... everywhere! Before I cleaned it all up, I decided to take some pictures to show you the mess. But, I never did find out how or what he cut himself on! Yikes!

^^The red spots are his blood on the mirror^^

^^His blood all over the carpet and his baby gate^^

^^I had to cut the band-aid to fit his finger. Then he kept trying to take it off and eat it.^^
His hands were covered in blood.
