Hayden goes to the doctor

Hayden weighs 24 pounds and he is 35 inches long! He is a HUGE kid! He only has one pair of size 5 shoes that fit him ok. Size 6 already?! Thats crazy! Most of his clothes are 18mo. He wears a few 24mo outfits and even a few 2T!!! When we got to the doctor's office today, a lady in the elevator said, "Hi, what's your name?", so I said "his name is Hayden". Then she said,"oh is he a little shy today?", and I said "No. He can't talk. He is only 1." Then she told me that he is bigger that her 2 and a half year old granddaughter! Holy cow. How do IIIIIII have such a big kid?! We are not big people!

Brave little soul

Hayden is such a dare devil! The other day, at my aunts house, I went in the kitchen to get a drink and when I came back he was sitting on the coffee table! It was so funny! I was trying to be stern, but I couldn't stop laughing. So when I told him "NO!" he just laughed. Well now we are at home and he keeps climbing on the couch. It takes him about 20 tries to get up and he cries the whole time, but when he does, he is the king of the world! He screams and yells and claps for himself! I thought he would just sit there after he got up, but nooooo! He RUNS! He has already mis-stepped and fallen off about 11 times. But, he never cries. He just goes back and gets right back up! I remember the days when I couldn't wait for him to crawl and walk... now I think immobility is a blessing! HA!

Sweet success

He was frustrated that he couldn't get back up

My week so far

We decided we better post some pictures since we can't really get ahold of the cruisers! We are all doing well. The week has been good and safe for the most part. Poor little Hayden fell into the coffee table and bit his tongue. And it was bleeding pretty bad and I was freaking out. But he is ok. Now we just have to keep the babies from beating each other up! Hayden keeps smacking-really smacking-Beckalynn in the head! How mean! She gets him back though... she eats his food and hits him with her bottle and pushes him down. Most of the day, the just keep eachother entertained. They are both such good little babies. Anyways, here is a few pics from the week.

We went to the open house at the new Draper Temple.
Bucket-head babies

Silly girl.
She was playin peek-a-boo

I had to take a picture of Kyle feeding both babies! I was laughing so hard!
P.S. My phone is dead! I forgot my charger so it will be dead til Friday evening!

Cafe Rio Dressing

If you have ever been to Cafe Rio, (or Cafe Caubo in Las Vegas) I am sure you have met, fell in love with, and had several rendezvous with: THEIR AMAZING TOMATILLO RANCH DRESSING!!! I know I have. Well, being poor takes one to desperate measures I guess... I googled it, found a recipe, tried it, and it was amazing. I am not sure if it's the exact recipe but it tastes dang good and it sure satisfied my craving. I would eat it with a spoon if it were ok to do so, but since it's not, I just eat it with everything else. Here is the recipe I tried, and modified to my liking:

THIS WILL MAKE ABOUT 1 AND 1/2 CUPS OF DRESSING
1 Buttermilk ranch dressing packet
2 Tomatillos-without the husk/leaf thingy
1/2 of a bunch of cilantro without the bottom, long stem part
1 clove of garlic
1 Jalapeno(without the seeds for medium, with the seeds for HOT, or substitute with 3 slices of the jalapenos you buy in a jar for mild)
3/4 C mayo
1-2 heaping spoonfuls of sour cream
Juice of 1 lime-optional (I didn't use it. I prefer to squeeze the lime right on my salad.)

Put everything into a food processor or a blender and blend well. Refrigerate to thicken. Don't taste it before you put it away or you might not put it away! YUM!

Oh and it will keep in the refrigerator for up to 14 days.

tomatillo Pictures, Images and Photos This is a tomatillo. You can find them in the produce section by the peppers.

Ok here are some pictures, finally, of Hayden's little birthday party.
I'm not posting pics of Hayden's cake I made... It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to. Sorry, only those who were there got to see it!

I made this cake just for my dad! Ha! He wanted me to make a yellow cake with chocolate frosting for him because "it's his favorite and he never gets any"! So I made him a poop-cake with a little help from the experts... you know who you are...

Hayden's Birthday

I will post pictures later, sorry! But, for now, I am just gonna paste the same the I wrote on the family blog!

We weren't planning on having a party for him because there was just too much going on that weekend. Then, on Wednesday, we decided that we better do something. It was Wednesday night before we even let anyone know about it. Sorry! We had fun though. Hayden was so cute opening his presents. What a spoiled kid! For his birthday he got: 3 baby v-tech games, a xylophone/piano thing, a kiddie keyboard type piano with a michrophone, overalls for summer, a see-n-say, a John Deere tractor with animals, the whole set of Baby Einsteins dvd's, a Cars chair, a ball, a Wall-E toy, a piggy bank that counts money with $40.00 in quarters in it,... I don't even remember what else.Kyle just started this seemingly never ending cycle called school AGAIN. BUT!, he is getting close! He is applying for internships like crazy. I keep begging him to apply for an internship in Paris, but he keeps reminding me "I'm not gay, and all they have there is fashion... NO". Oh well.

Body Worlds 3: Saturday Jan. 10th
We are so excited for tomorrow-Saturday. We are going to Body Worlds 3 in Salt Lake at the Leonardo. For those of you who don;t know what I am talkling about... go here: http://theleonardo.org/bodyworlds/the-exhibit/It's an amzing exhibit about the human body. It's not for the squeemish. Most of the exhibit consists of real, dead, human bodies without skin. Science like this absolutely fascinates me. We still have a bit of Christmas money left from my Grandma, so this will be her gift to us. This is the last weekend so starting tomorrow, through Sunday, they will be open 24 hours, with admissions every hour. If anyone would like to come with us feel free! (I'm all about late notices these days... plus we just decided last night that we are going) We will probably go at either 4 or 5 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 10th. Admission, with tax, is about $25 per person. Call us if you want to meet up!!!
