Wahweap Hoodoo Trail-Spring Break

We went riding to a place called Wahweap Hoodoo Trails. None of us even knew what we would find out there. But when we rode up, we were all amazed! It was so neat to see all of the Hoodoos. It amazes me how the huge rocks can stay up on top of the white sand-stone. They were so delicate. If we touched them, they would litterally turn to dust on our fingertips. Everywhere we walked was that white sandy rock. It was solid enough to walk on, but if you were to scuff your shoe, it would turn to sand. Cool place... I wanna go back some day.

Here they are! With a little help from my brother, we found em! They are at about 4:10 in this guy's video. (Just push play then pause it til it loads all the way... then fast forward to 4:10. Unless you want to watch it...) My mom and dad are holding the banner in the front of the band and my sister, Megan, is in the sixth row, (after the flags) with a marching frech horn. (she is the one closest to the camera at 4:53) Way cool. I can't wait to see their pictures!

My little sister, Megan, is going to Ireland with her high school marching band. What an awesome experience! My parents will be going, as well, as chaperones. I'm just a weee bit jealous! (and I have made sure they all know it!)

Why babies have mothers

I have seen this video so many times and I still laugh every time I see it. Today, I received it in THREE emails! So, I decided to post it!

I need help!

I HATE my hair nowadays! It needs to be longer or shorter or blonder or browner or curlier or straighter or SOMETHING! Give me some ideas!

Should I get highlights?
Should I go dark?
Should I cut it way short?
Should I just add some texture, i.e. layers?

I know all you gals out there have had a hair crisis like this before! Help me out! Everyone better leave a comment! Even if its anonymous!

Random

Sometimes I wake up in overdrive mode and I just want to clean everything. Lately, I haven't had any of those days! There is so much going on in our lives right now that I don't want to do anything! So far on my agenda:

• clean the bathroom
• sweep and mop the kitchen
• dishes
• finish the laundry
• clean off the table-one of my biggest pet-peeves
• clean up the living room
• vacuum

AaaaAah! so much to do... I need to just turn the radio on and get it done!

Anywho... about Hayden. For about a week and a half after his shots he wouldn't eat ANYTHING solid. All he wanted was milk milk milk. He just was not acting himself. Then all of the sudden he turned right back into the vibrant little tyke that he used to be! He woke up one morning and ate a waffle for breakfast, raviolis and pears and green beans for lunch, and spaghetti for dinner. I think we are back on track. Oh, and he suddenly started doing his sign language that i have never been able to get him to do. So far he only does "more" and "all done" and he shakes his head "no" when he is done instead of just turning away. Also, he started saying "shishies" (for "fishies")again, and he says "oh, yeah" if you say it first. He tries to repeat some small words we say and we are noticing that he has his own "words" for some things like Lightening McQueen and his trucks. He is back down to 22 pounds after his eating no solids saga. But, he is eating well again and hopefully he will be back up to normal weight after a few days. He loves to dance anytime he hears music, even the ringtones on our phones! He will kind of shake his little butt and his hands! It is so cute! He loves to stomp his feet around the house and walk in little circles. I wish everyone could see him stomp around. It makes me laugh so hard! He loves to carry around his little fuzzy blanket that he got from my uncle Kelly and aunt Kami. It is his favorite thing. We are starting to call him Linus, because sometimes we can't go anywhere without it. I am just picturing him lugging it around in the dirt with a little scribbley cloud of dust behind him, haha. Our little Linus van Pelt!

As for me and Kyle, we are doing well. We are both very stressed with the current situation. You know how people always say, "we take everything for granted until something threatens to take it all away"... It's so true. We are so thankful for family and friends who have helped us deal with the stress and given us advice. We would honestly be lost without you all. Thanks!

Hayden goes to the doctor

Hayden weighs 24 pounds and he is 35 inches long! He is a HUGE kid! He only has one pair of size 5 shoes that fit him ok. Size 6 already?! Thats crazy! Most of his clothes are 18mo. He wears a few 24mo outfits and even a few 2T!!! When we got to the doctor's office today, a lady in the elevator said, "Hi, what's your name?", so I said "his name is Hayden". Then she said,"oh is he a little shy today?", and I said "No. He can't talk. He is only 1." Then she told me that he is bigger that her 2 and a half year old granddaughter! Holy cow. How do IIIIIII have such a big kid?! We are not big people!

Brave little soul

Hayden is such a dare devil! The other day, at my aunts house, I went in the kitchen to get a drink and when I came back he was sitting on the coffee table! It was so funny! I was trying to be stern, but I couldn't stop laughing. So when I told him "NO!" he just laughed. Well now we are at home and he keeps climbing on the couch. It takes him about 20 tries to get up and he cries the whole time, but when he does, he is the king of the world! He screams and yells and claps for himself! I thought he would just sit there after he got up, but nooooo! He RUNS! He has already mis-stepped and fallen off about 11 times. But, he never cries. He just goes back and gets right back up! I remember the days when I couldn't wait for him to crawl and walk... now I think immobility is a blessing! HA!

My week so far

We decided we better post some pictures since we can't really get ahold of the cruisers! We are all doing well. The week has been good and safe for the most part. Poor little Hayden fell into the coffee table and bit his tongue. And it was bleeding pretty bad and I was freaking out. But he is ok. Now we just have to keep the babies from beating each other up! Hayden keeps smacking-really smacking-Beckalynn in the head! How mean! She gets him back though... she eats his food and hits him with her bottle and pushes him down. Most of the day, the just keep eachother entertained. They are both such good little babies. Anyways, here is a few pics from the week.

Cafe Rio Dressing

If you have ever been to Cafe Rio, (or Cafe Caubo in Las Vegas) I am sure you have met, fell in love with, and had several rendezvous with: THEIR AMAZING TOMATILLO RANCH DRESSING!!! I know I have. Well, being poor takes one to desperate measures I guess... I googled it, found a recipe, tried it, and it was amazing. I am not sure if it's the exact recipe but it tastes dang good and it sure satisfied my craving. I would eat it with a spoon if it were ok to do so, but since it's not, I just eat it with everything else. Here is the recipe I tried, and modified to my liking:

THIS WILL MAKE ABOUT 1 AND 1/2 CUPS OF DRESSING
1 Buttermilk ranch dressing packet
2 Tomatillos-without the husk/leaf thingy
1/2 of a bunch of cilantro without the bottom, long stem part
1 clove of garlic
1 Jalapeno(without the seeds for medium, with the seeds for HOT, or substitute with 3 slices of the jalapenos you buy in a jar for mild)
3/4 C mayo
1-2 heaping spoonfuls of sour cream
Juice of 1 lime-optional (I didn't use it. I prefer to squeeze the lime right on my salad.)

Put everything into a food processor or a blender and blend well. Refrigerate to thicken. Don't taste it before you put it away or you might not put it away! YUM!

Oh and it will keep in the refrigerator for up to 14 days.

This is a tomatillo. You can find them in the produce section by the peppers.
